This table converts cites to housing statutes, from new (504B), enacted in 1999 Minn. Laws Ch. 199, to old (504 and 566). It also includes the two new statutes on pre-lease deposits (§504.38) and application fees (§504.301), which now have 504B cites. 504B went into effect July 1, 1999. I suggest citing both the old and new statutes.

Keep in mind that there still are housing statutes in other chapters, such as 327C (mobile homes), 550 (real estate), 577 (other lock out statutes), 484 (housing court, expungement), and 13 (data practices of inspection departments).

Other new session laws of interest include 1999 Minn. Laws Chs. 229 (expungement and tenant screening), 97 (pre-lease deposits), 150 (application fees), 227 §§ 5, 23 (inspection records), 190 (mediation agreements), 244 (consumer reports - applies to tenant screening reports), and 216 Art. 6 §§ 16-17 (consolidation of conciliation court cases with housing court cases).
