            o.         Tenant Screening Reports

Many landlords use reports from tenant screening agencies to decide whether to rent to tenants. The Housing Justice Center has launched a new statewide project, Renters Reclaim the Record. The goal of this project is to identify and mitigate barriers for Minnesota renters seeking housing who were recently denied housing based on their tenant screening report. Renters are connected with an attorney who helps renters access the tenant screening report and answer any questions about the report, check for any inaccuracies, and provide other resources to help renters feel empowered in the rental search process. Referrals can be sent to the Housing Justice Center at 1-800-429-1705. More information can be found on its website.
